Where the Cypresses Stand

This project explores the relationship between family life, light, and landscape through a contemporary private residence in Italy. The house was designed from the inside out, with the living room, dining area, and kitchen forming a shared central space—the social heart of the home—fully oriented toward the backyard. Large openings establish a continuous visual connection to the outdoors, while clerestory windows introduce natural light deep into the interior, preserving privacy and enhancing spatial comfort.

A contemporary private residence designed as a shared family space, defined by light, proportion, and context.

The living room, dining area, and kitchen form the social core of the house, oriented toward the backyard to strengthen the indoor–outdoor relationship. Clerestory windows bring controlled natural light into the interior while maintaining privacy.

The architecture is intentionally restrained, allowing the house to sit naturally within its Mediterranean surroundings. Materials, volumes, and openings were composed to create a calm, timeless residential environment.

A residence shaped by context, clarity, and everyday living.
